Introduction
Running your own DNS server might be something you want to consider if you like to be more independent from the ISP your domain is running on. This document is aimed at people who have at least a basic understanding what DNS is and how it relates to the topic of running a domain and services like mail or websites.
Since we are trying to be the master dns server for a domain we need to make sure we can be found, allowing only servers we trust to look up the domain records. Another aim should be to make it as secure as possible to prevent malicous use of our server.
